I wanted what a thong gives you under leggings: a smooth look without visible panty lines. But I did not enjoy wearing one.

The feeling of fabric sitting between my butt cheeks was something I kept noticing throughout the day. I wanted another choice—underwear with more coverage that I could wear under fitted clothes.

That question became the starting point for Nuage: could we design a full-coverage thong alternative with a lighter, flatter construction?

The problem I wanted to solve

When you choose underwear for leggings, it can feel as though you are choosing between the coverage you prefer and the outline you want to avoid. A thong removes much of the back panel, which can reduce the edges visible beneath clothing. A conventional brief offers more coverage, but its hems and seams may be noticeable under close-fitting fabric.

I did not want everyone to stop wearing thongs. I wanted women who disliked that feeling to have another option. The goal was practical: more back coverage, a smooth appearance, and less distraction from what you wear underneath.

Looking for a different starting point

In April 2024, I began looking for a way to bring that idea to life. I went from fabric mill to fabric mill, searching for something thin and lightweight enough for fitted clothing while still feeling comfortable against the body.

The fabric was one part of the answer. Construction was another. A soft material can still have a bulky edge, and a thin material can still fit poorly. The fabric, the cut, and the places where pieces meet all had to work together.

Why coverage became part of the design

NuCloud grew from the idea that a brief should be designed around the curves it needs to cover. On the current NuCloud Original Mid-Rise Brief, the design includes a contoured full-coverage fit and raw-cut edges.

These details serve different purposes. The back panel provides coverage; the edge construction aims to reduce the thickness that clothing has to lie over. Neither replaces the need to find the right size and check the result under your own clothes.

A pair that looks smooth under one set of leggings may look different under another. Fabric thickness, color, lighting, and individual fit all matter. I would rather explain those details than ask you to judge underwear from a promise alone.

A product that keeps teaching us

Once customers began wearing NuCloud, the work changed. A sample can show how an idea looks. Customers show how it feels through an ordinary day, which sizes need attention, and which details deserve another look.

Listening to that feedback has become part of how I think about building Nuage. Comfort is personal. Our responsibility is to understand the problem more clearly and keep improving the choices we offer.

What I want Nuage to offer

I started with a simple wish: underwear I would not have to keep thinking about. NuCloud is our answer for people who want a smooth look with more coverage.

If that sounds like what you have been looking for, explore the NuCloud Original Mid-Rise Brief, check its current fit guidance, and read the customer reviews on the product page. Choose based on your clothes, your body, and the kind of coverage you actually enjoy wearing.
